Concert Report The concert was very well received by an appreciative audience of about 80 people. The attendance was disappointing but the singers were encouraged by the warm reception given to them. One former member who couldn't take part because of illness sent us the message below. ....Just a quick email to say how much we enjoyed The Choral Society's Concert of Christmas Music. In an inspired choice of the traditional and new and not so well known carols, the Choir sang quite beautifully with both balance and harmony finely and skilfully directed and delivered. If I had to choose the the best three I would perhaps say The Rubbra Dormi Jesu, The Little Road to Bethlehem and The Cornelius Three Kings were for me outstanding, but the whole programme was most enjoyable and much appreciated I am sure by a less than full house, which is a pity when music of this quality is being presented in the town. The wine and mince pies at the interval added to a quite memorable musical evening in a magnificent setting ....which left me wanting to get back to the Society and into a singing role as soon as possible.....Thankyou.. From David Warnes Adrian Finch Adrian Finch was born in 1973 and began his musical education as a chorister at Beverley Minster. Recent solo engagements include Messiah with Portsmouth Cathedral Choir and Brahms’ Requiem for Oundle Choral Society. Adrian had the privilege of studying singing with the late Terence Sharpe and his current teacher is Richard Smart. |
